During this Saturday with the Family, you are invited to share the most exciting story you have been part of. We will perform our stories using finger puppets that we’ll create during the workshop.

-->Trekking with the Birds!
Around the work of Geneviève Chevalier
Geneviève Chevalier’s Trailing Edge / Leading Edge looks at how climate change threatens the survival of seabirds. In this collage workshop, we will look at different birds form North America and explore the theme of migration. Where do they go, where do they come from? We will create a collaborative artwork tracing different trajectories, from those of birds to our own.

CONTEMPORARY LABS, MONDAYS
Free and by reservation only
We offer convivial interactive visits and hands-on visual arts workshops where young people can learn to read and decode an artwork while sharing their observations in a group setting. After their visit, they will create a work inspired by the exhibitions they will have just seen. Our creative workshops allow children to learn by seeing and by doing, to better understand and appropriate the creative process of the artists in our programming. Since 2015, we have welcomed more than 400 children to our gallery.
-->Around the art of Paul Litherland and Monique Moumblow
After a commented tour of the exhibition of Paul Litherland and Monique Moumblow, a workshop will be suggested to the children.
COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY GROUPS
Interactives visits and meetings
Free and on reservation uniquement
Guided tours of current exhibitions are offered to college and university students. On request, we can organize discussions or round tables on various themes such as OPTICA's mission, the mandate of artist-run center or any other subject related to the current art. These meetings take place in the AGORA space of OPTICA.
The educational program is supported by the Foundation of Greater Montreal, Community Initiatives Program 2018, and the Caisse Desjardins du Plateau-Mont-Royal.
